Go Make Disciples!

Matthew 28:18-20

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Jesus Commanded Us to Go Make Disciples!
He never commanded us to go make Christians.

To Be A Disciple of Jesus means to be His apprentice

master apprentice

A Master Apprentice Relationship

It is a Master who is training the Apprentice to become exactly like himself, with the skills to do what he does.

As His Disciples, Jesus is the Master (Teacher). We are the Apprentices (disciples, students, or learners) who are becoming just like Him.

The Term "Christian" in the modern world can mean many things.

In general the term "Christian" can mean anyone who goes to any of the thousands of denominational, or non-denominational, churches.

These sects all have their own special interpretation and emphasis of the Scriptures.

All of these sects tend to agree on one thing. That is, they want you to believe that their sect is the true or right church.

Meditation, Prayer, Reading & Studying the Scriptures are Necessary for you to be His disciple?

Meditation is a wrenching experience for most people. It is difficult because it exposes the illusion of our self-importance. It can be terribly threatening to be silent, or to not have the last word in a conversation.

Meditation and being quiet before God is the way that we hear and know Him.

Reading and Studying the Scriptures are necessary for us to learn and know the Truth about what He has done in history, and what He commands us to do.

So What Do You Want To Be?

Just a christian, whatever that means,

      or

"His Disciple!"

The term "Disciple" is found 259 times in the Scriptures.

It occurs once in Isaiah, and all other occurrences are in the New Testament.

So What Do You Want To Be?

Just a christian, whatever that means,

"His Disciple!"

Living in this world without being His Disciple, is like an unsharpened pencil:unsharpened pencilIn the end, it has no point!

Good News

Hi there my friend,

There was a time in my life when I was a self-centered, arrogant, self-righteous hypocrite.

But Jesus forgave me and promised me eternal life.

I decided to follow Him and be His Disciple.

Things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.
For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

If you want to be like Jesus, you must be fully trained.

If you want to be like Jesus, you must be fully trained. Before we discuss "Our Mission", it is essential that we understand "His Vision, for His Church"

When a typical person hears the word "Church", what is the first image that comes to their mind? "Click here to see"

The reason that an image of a church building comes to mind is because of "Non-Scriptural Traditions!"

The traditions of "Church Buildings" came into existence through Roman Catholicism, and was started 312 A.D. by Constantine, the emperor of Rome.

But the disciples in the New Testament never thought of the church as a building, because they never had church buildings. They typically met in homes.

When disciples heard the word "Church", they automatically thought about "God's People."

His visions has to do with where we, as His Church will end up, and what we, as His Church will have become.

God's Vision, for His Church!

When we think of "God's Vision for His Church", we must be thinking about "His People."

We must not confuse His Vision for His Church, with Our Mission as His Disciples.

"His Vision for His Church" is where we will end up, and what we have become. "Our Mission as His Disciples" is how we as His Church, end up at that destination!

"His Vision for His Church" is where we will end up. "Our Mission as His Disciples" is how we as His Church make it to His Vision.

The following passages reveal where His Church will end up.

God’s Vision for His Church

The marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.

Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the Marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.

Revelation 19:6-9

6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!
Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the Marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.
And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’
And he said to me,
These are the true sayings of God.”

When that day comes, His wife will be ready. His Wife will be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright.

Are you making yourself ready for the Marriage of the Lamb?

Jesus Prayed That We All, May Be One as We Are One.

John 17:20-21

Jesus said, Father 20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;
21
that they
   All may be one,
   as
You, Father, are in Me, and I in You;
That They also may be one in Us
;
That the world may believe that You sent Me.

His Church is for us to Become One in Him!

Are you becoming One with Him, and with His Church?

His Church will be a Glorious Church, without spot or wrinkle or any Blemish

Ephesians 5:25-27

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the Church and gave Himself for her,
26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious Church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing,
but that she should be holy and without blemish
.

In this world, females spend much time, effort and money on their appearance. And this tends to make men happy.

Are you spending time to become Holy and without Blemish for Jesus?

That will make you beautiful to Him!

For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.

Ephesians 5:28-31

28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.

31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”

Husbands must love their wives the way that Jesus gave Himself up for the Church.

This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the Church.

Ephesians 5:32-33

32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the Church.
33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Paul says that "Marriage is a great mystery" and it refers to Christ and the Church.

Note: Once you have read a mystery novel, it is no longer a mystery to you.

As you spend time alone with Jeus in prayer and meditation, He will reveal this mystery to you.

His Bride will be a Pure Virgin

2 Corinthians 11:2-4

For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy.
For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
For if he who comes
Preaches Another Jesus whom we have not preached, or If you
Receive a Different Spirit which you have not received, or a
   Different Gospel which you have not accepted;
You may well put up with it!

Are you presenting yourself as a pure virgin to Jesus?

His Church will be a United Church with No Divisions

1 Corinthians 1:10-13

10 Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11 For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you.
12 Now I say this, that each of you says,
     “I am of Paul,” or
     “I am of Apollos,” or
     “I am of Cephas,” or
     “I am of Christ.”
13 Is Christ divided?
Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

We are all to have no divisions among us, but that we be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Are you becoming one with His Church?

As His Church, We Will Be Like Him

Luke 6:40

40 A disciple is not above his Master, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his Master.

When you become fully trained, you will be like Jesus!

If you want to be like Him, you must become fully trained.

His Church is His People.
It is not a building, denomination
or any human institution.
